C J Hayhurst graduated from the University of Birmingham, UK, in 2011 with a Masters degree in Civil Engineering. Now working as a civil engineer for an international construction firm, he uses his precious spare time writing what he can to try and stay on top of a self-imposed one-book-per-year schedule.

A voracious appetite for fantasy and science fiction as a youngster was sated by Star Wars marathons, waiting outside bookstores on the day of book releases and playing videogames. Now, as an adult, when time is at a premium, he spends more time than all of those combined trying to write down the things in his head.
